Move Clock Move!

Argh. It's been 5:02pm for hours.
I can leave at 5:30. I'm essentially done with what I gotta do for the day ... but stuck.

Dana's been sending me emails getting me more excited. Teaser!

And I'm looking forward to hanging out with my husband tonight at this wedding. Fun weekend ahead! Woo hooo.

And now it's only 5:06pm.
Argh!

The Five:
1. Impatient
2. Excited
3. In Friday mode
4. Happy
5. IMPATIENT! Did I say that one?

5:08pm. !!

Woo Friday Woo

Ok ... it's taking a lot to get that "woo" out because I worked nightside and had to turn around and come in dayside...so that means my flinging-flanging alarm went off at 6:00am. Oh - unless you count the CON-FOUNDED DOGS barking at 5-something. I will be doing something about that. Needless to say, I'm a little groggy.

Hey -- one of my wishes has been granted! Lisa's droppin' some dough to have her kids play at a place while she comes to see us at our croptastic weekend. How cool is that? I feel special. I hope it's worth it! Eeek.

Today's probably gonna crawl. I do have a small "blinking" feel of guilt for having this weekend...and shoving my kids/hubby off to grandma's ... but darnit, it's ok. It's ok. I keep tell myself ... it's ok! Just remember: sometime this summer, I'll have kids while Ryan's on some fab man's weekend somewhere. See...it's not like I'm taking a TRIP. So, really, he's still ahead. Right? Right.

Idol

What is wrong with these judges? Telling some of these girls they did a good job, when they clearly sucked wind. Blech.

Who are your favorites? Some of my favorite guys BOMBED yesterday ... and the stupid DVR (or Ryan) messed up the last 30 minutes .. so I didn't get to see that 16 year old everyone loves sing the song that made Paula cry. Darn it. Don't really have a favorite girl yet either ... though I am leading towards that chick who's never seen an R movie.

Come on now ... GET BETTER. Where's the STAR?

Different topic: we got the carpets and some furniture clearned yesterday. HAPPINESS! Though the carpet guy did confirm that our vaccuum is basically worthless. And it's not even that old! And we tried to get a "nicer" one ... but it's just not doing its job. Everyone says: get a Dyson. Sure, would love one. But geeeeez they're expensive. But yes, there's probably one in our future.

Random thought: I love the word craptastic.

And THE FIVE:
1. A little silly
2. Anxious for Friday evening to get here.
3. In a little pain - I burned the roof of my mouth on dinner. Owie!
4. Worried ... a reporter w/o a liveshot right now. Not good.
5. Happy .. today's almost over ... one day closer to my KELLY CROPTASTIC WEEKEND!

Wishes:
1. Lisa would come to my croptastic weekend
2. I had a story for my reporter w/no story.
3. I could work the word "craptastic" into a newscast.
4. My mouth wasn't burnt.
5. The house is clean when I get home.

Happy Weds!

2 DAYS 'TIL CROP - TIL - YOU DROP

Wooooo hoooooo.....
Oh, and: woooo hoooooo.....

Blog Challenge

If you had to give up one of these things, which would it be:
1. Cell Phone
2. Hair products/curling iron
3. Toothpaste

Hmmmm..... no cell phone ... no work calls.
I could go without hair stuff....and fall back on pony tails and hairclips.
Toothpaste...hmm...probably need that!

So ... between cell and hair stuff. I guess I'm gonna have to go with hair stuff. I like having my cell for instant communication ... and to talk to my husband on the way home from work.

3 DAYS 'TIL BLISS

NOTHIN' BUT SCRAPPIN' BABY. 3 DAYS. OK -- 3 AND 1/2 IF YOU COUNT TODAY.
whoot. whoot.

I love Spring Cleaning

I did a lot of cleaning this weekend. I got A LOT done. Really. Yeah, I was mostly in just one room -- but I really cleaned it out. I got rid of lots of clutter. And did some big time cleaning. It feels good to have more room and less stuff.

I've been really good about getting rid of stuff. I had a huge pile of sweaters that I didn't touch once all winter ... and now they're ALL in a bag set for donations.

We're getting the carpets and some furniture (upholstry) cleaned tomorrow! Yeeeah! I love Spring cleaning!

The Five:
1. Uncannily happy for a Monday
2. Uncannily upbeat/not tired for a Monday
3. Anxious to go home though...long boring news night.
4. Tired of winter/cold weather
5. Pinched. I'm wearing some pretty teeteringly high heels.

Wishes:
1. I was in sweats
2. There's still a piece of peach pie for me at home.
3. No one tracks yuk from the garage onto my clean carpets after tomorrow
4. Warm weather. Spring. Flowers. Brighter clothes.
5. I have time to switch my Valentines stuff for Easter stuff some time this week.

It's the last week of Sweeps/February! Yeah!

Real Quick..

I will NOT get sucked into the computer. Just logging in real quick to say I have windows open and have begun some serious spring cleaning. It smells so good with the fresh air blowing in. (But in some spots it got a little cold, oops.) Good to clean out!!!!

Also ... all three of my boys have blogs now! I think they're so cute with the stuff they chose to put on and say. We'll continue to update and add and they'll blog. (links under my link list)

I think I'm developing some weird addiction to creating blogs!! Ack!

Ok ... back to work!!! NO MORE SNOW!! Time for spring!!!!

JUNO

Oh. My. Gosh.

JUNO.

You MUST see this movie.  MUST.
Just saw it tonight.
And:

You.  Must.  See. This. Movie!!!!!

Leave Comments

I've now fixed my blogs so you don't have to sign up through google and jump through passwords etc just to leave a comment. I've also taken off the "tell us what these letters are" thing to leave comments.  That opens me up to spam -- but I'm willing to try it out for awhile to see how it goes.  If you use the "anonymous" post option - just sign your post so I can see who's been by!  Just makin' things easier.

Barking Dogs

One thing I look forward to most on the weekends is sleeping in on Saturday - I NEED it.  Seriously - NEED to sleep in on Saturday.
But on this particular Saturday the STUPID dogs next door were caterwauling and going on and on at 7am.  Seriously.  They weren't just barking.  They were howling and squabbling and just making a huge racket.  There was no sleeping through it.
It's already bad enough the kids are often afraid to play in their own backyard because of these hyper barking pains in the .... but enough is enough.
So ... I'll be pulling out the HOA contract today and being an angry neighbor.
Grrrrr.

Yee-Haw it's Fah-Ri-Day!!!

Rough week! Sick ... pooped out ... and busy. But now it's Friday, and I feel better and am looking forward to the weekend.

Of course, now Ryan doesn't feel good! Grrrr! We're supposed to have a "date" Saturday night...I hope he wakes up all better tomorrow!

Tomorrow's the big baseball signups for Jack & Kyle (TBall)...for the actual Lee's Summit league...let's hope he gets in.

The Five:
1. Happy
2. Anxious for 10:32:20
3. Hungry. My food is on the way from Jimmy Johns -- yum!
4. Looking forward to cleaning up the house. That's right.
5. Excited that I'm one week away from my "nothin' but scrappin' " weekend! yipeeee!

Wishes:
1. My food would get here.
2. Ryan would feel better.
3. Tonight goes easy.
4. We had new sheets. (random)
5. I had a Coke in front of me.

Cheers! TGIF.

Snow Day. Really?

Odd. Today is a snow day. We knew what kind of weather we'd have - and that is was not a big deal. No stations in town went on early, as is protocal if there's even a hint of bad weather. Yet, 6am, bbbrrrrring .... the call. I thought sure once I got up and looked out the window I'd see the forecast was all wrong and there was either dangerous ice or a foot of snow. But, nope, just sleet. Just as forecasted.

Perhaps the schools are responding to the fact that they had reporters up their arses asking why they didn't cancel last time there was snow and a school bus got into an accident ... and in a separate district a teacher got into an accident. My favorite response was from a school spokesman when asked about the school bus accident. She said, "Well, accidents can happen any time, any day. I think this was one of those accidents." Had the reporter had any balls, he/she would have said: "HELLO. The school bus hit a SNOW PLOW." Duh. And when the accidents are attributed to slick roads, that again is a stupid response to those questions.

Oh and this whole: "we do what schools x and y do." Hello, this is Kansas City .. it can be snowing on one side of the street and raining on the other.

I prefer erring on the side of safety. And let's show some consistency for pete's sake.

Oh, and while I'm complaining -- I think it's a bad idea that LS school decided to get rid of built in snow days next year. Really? And they didn't get parent input first. Dumb idea. If you're gonna call classes when it SLEETS outside (like today) my kid will be in school through July!!!

Bad move.

Blog Challenge

Here's this week's challenge:
You have to move. You have two choices:

1. A farm house in the middle of the field. Your closest neighbors/grocery/etc are miles away.
2. A big city apartment in a high rise. Yep, you still have your kids.
Which is it and why?

This is a tough one. There are parts of me that could go either way: cozy and secluded on the farm ... active and in the middle of the action in the big city. Plus, more convenient to get to things.
BUT: Since we have family, I'm going to have to go with the farm. The boys would love being able to play baseball and not worry about dogs getting the balls they hit over the fence. We'd always have fresh air. And stars ... I love the stars in places where there are no city lights. Yep, I'm thinking barefoot on the front porch swing watching the sun go down and the stars come out. Man, that makes me crave summer!!

Better now.

Yesterday I could not move. I was in major pain and just felt completely exhausted. It was bad. I think it was flu.

But today, the pain is gone ... except for the occasional flash through my ribs and behind my eyes. So, I'm back at work ... keeping my distance.

Yuk!! Waaaaah!

The Five:
(feelings today)
1. Better
2. Exhausted
3. Pleasant
4. Lazy
5. Comfy in jeans. If I have to work while sick -- I'm gonna be comfy!

(wishes:)
1. A warm treat: like cobbler or hot pie....ummm
2. I could curl up in bed right now and start a new book.
3. An easy news night
4. I felt 100% better...still haven't shaken my sickness from November!
5. Friday.

Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Blech.

I don't feel well today. I keep getting pain in my stomach -- followed by the urged to do something gross. I haven't thrown up yet -- but now almost thinking I'd feel better if I did.

I hope it goes away. It's a horrible sin to call in sick during sweeps. But I don't think people would appreciate the alternative.

blech.

You Know I Hate Monday.

Nuff said.

The Five:

1. Tired

2. Annoyed

3. Grumpy
4. Craving sweets.
5. Resigned

Wishes:
1. For a week of vacation -- at home.
2. Warmer days
3. Weekend Getaway - somewhere warm.
4. New clothes
5. New shoes

Sunday.

What a nice lazy day.  We woke up to snow...but will go to bed with it all melted.  We kept a fire in the fireplace all day and putz'd around.

I wasn't "too busy" to blog today...just occupied elsewhere.  I tend to suffer from "screen suck" -- the phenomenon of hopping on the computer for one thing, and ending up stuck online for too long!

So, I'm just here to update the quote and the poll ...then I'm logging off.  REALLY.
Have a good week!

Today.

Today has been nice.  Well, my husband waking me up at a gawd-awful hour to take Jack to his 8:30 am baseball camp and Nicks 9am basketball wasn't nice.  And Nick pooping out and whining at the end isn't ever fun ... but after that.

We went to Target.  My mecca of happiness.  We always go in for one thing...and 100 bucks (or more) later leave happy.  There's ALWAYS something we need in Target.  We got a fancy new dual shower head -- with massagers etc.  And a new caddy thing so stuff would stop falling on us. Also got some cute Easter things ... and some V-Day things on sale. And Nick got a Spiderman shirt.  He's obsessed with Spider man.

We came home and Ryan got a fire going, and I laid down for some peace and quiet and to read a book.   And this is what happens:
Eh, I could still read.  They were like wiggly blankets.

Blog Challenge

Remember those "choose your own adventure" books from when we were kids? One decision takes you one direction...another decision and you end up somewhere completely different...That's the basis of this challenge:You didn't meet your husband. You didn't have kids. What would you be doing? What kind of life would you be living? Mention some of the PROS....and the easy to list cons.

My life had a couple different paths it could have gone. The first thing I wonder is if I ever would've gotten into Journalism school without Ryan helping me get through Econ and Statistics.
Then...there's a pretty good chance I would have stayed on track to be an anchor/reporter. (And much thinner and prettier! I don't blame him for that - that's on me!) I was doing both at KOMU in Columbia...but the job opened for producer at the station where Ryan was in Iowa. I remember my news director telling me: "You leave now to be a producer, you'll never pick up a microphone again." Yep. That turned out to be true. Can't help but wonder "what if."

I also think I would be living in a big city somewhere ... because I was a ladder climber. I wanted to see how far I could go .. and how fast. I changed that when we decided to have children. Which, before Ryan, I never wanted. He's a man who SHOULD be the father of children -- and he helped grow that part of my heart.

I'd be a meaner person. (Insert jokes here about how that can't be possible.) I may not have picked up scrapbooking. I can't imagine I'd have found a husband or "boyfriend" who could have put up with me or "get" me the way Ryan does.

Pros: hip living. Selfish living. No mini-van. Everything clean all the time.

Cons: well, duh! No Ryan. No Jack, Kyle, Nick. No extended family. Perhaps a wayward career -- I believe I am designed to be a producer-type.

God takes us down weird paths ... but there's always a direction. And I'm thankful the adventure I chose took me to where I am now.

He Loves Me.

Look at what my Valentine got me! Isn't it great? Isn't it thoughtful? Aren't I a lucky gal???? I mean -- he bought the basket on his own. He hung the pretty heart from it -- on his own. Picked out all the cute scrappy stuff and chocolates and stamps and cute hand towels...all by himself. Isn't it put together so pretty?? I was so impressed and touched! Pretty darn awesome. Oh oh -- and he got a babysitter for Saturday for us to go out for dinner -- on his own, I didn't have to nag.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

The Five:

1. Loved

2. Happy

3. Spoiled

4. Special

5. Relieved: it's almost Friday, LOST is on tonight, my kids' V-Day party is over, and things are "letting up."

Catching up....

So much catching up to do! In everything.
I blogged on our thegerdings.com website ... check that out to see some of the craziness.

I have to say thank you to Sherry - who started the blog tag. Thanks to her I've reconnected with my "long lost friend" Karlyn ...who read my tag and sent me a long, long note catching me up on her life and making me cry and miss her and glad that we've taken some time to update eachother. Very cool.

I'm not ready for Valentine's Day. so much to do so much to do .....

The Five:
1. Harried
2. Behind
3. Worn Out
4. Overbooked
5. Potentially grumpy
Ha ha ... I said "harried behind." heh heh heh.

Five wishes:
1. My drive home was shorter
2. I could sleep in in silence
3. Kyle is better & can go to his V-Day party. (Number one wish!)
4. Ice cream. Want some.
5. I could take a day off to disinfect the house.

Updated Poll - Vote Now!

(scroll down to find it.)

Blog Blessings - Tag

I received two "Blogging Blessings" one from Maricar and one from Lisa.

So I'm passing it on to a few wonderful blogging friends.

"The idea…it’s a game of tag with a difference, rather than looking inwardly, we look outside ourselves and bless, praise and pray for 3 blog friends. By participating in this endeavour we not only make the recipient of the blessing feel valued and appreciated, but we are having some fun too. We’re going to see how far the bloggin’ blessings can travel around the world and how many people can be blessed! Recipients of a bloggin’ blessing may upload the above image to their sidebar if they choose to."

First, thank you to Lisa and Maricar for thinking of me.

First, Lisa:
Lisa is my "clone" ... we often seem to have the same perspective on things ... and respond to it with appropriate sarcasm. She makes me laugh, offers me support, a place to vent and understands my propensity to be motivated by guilt. She's also incredibly creative and inspires me.... I admire her strength and motivation to just "do what you gotta do." She paid me the greatest compliment by calling me a 'kick ass mom & professional who does it without (seeming) to break a sweat.' Wow. That means a lot for someone to NOTICE and then post for the world to see. You don't know what you've done for me ... and I say: Backatcha.

And then there's Maricar. Maricar Maricar Maricar. The person I gravitated to during CKU .. and really the only person from that time I still want in my circle. Sadly as soon as I found this cherished friend, she ditched me for other states. Something about having to be with her husband and kids...blah blah. What a freak. I can still count on her to make me smile, keep me on my toes and reassure me that I'm not a horrible mother on a horrible mother feeling day. Glad you're in my corner, friend.

Now's part where I tag three people .... I know you're supposed to do 3 blogging friends, but I feel motivated to do three people who SHOULD have blogs ... or I miss and just want to reach out and touch.

1. DANA

Dana: Thank you for being a great example of a real mom. Devoted and harried. You really know how to "keep it real" ... and that helps keep me grounded. You've saved the day for us so many times by watching the kids...and they love it when they get to "play with Dana." You're the only non-family person who's ever watched them. You're a blessing to my family and to me as a friend. I love that you are silly and goofy and put children first. Pretty darn cool.

2. KARLYN

Ah, my long lost friend Karlyn. How sad that the picture of you I use is off your station website. I should've grabbed the great one you sent at Christmas of you and the big fluffy dog. But that's where we are now -- "hi" at Christmas and me occasionally checking your station bio just to make sure you're still there and to smile at the stuff you wrote. Karlyn was my maid of honor...and all around go to girl in college. I just want you to know I still think of you often, wish you the best, and miss you.

3. JENN

You can't tell from this picture, but that's me, Jack & Nick and Jenn and maybe Becca .. all riding an elephant. Yep, we're riding an elephant. And that's appropriate. We seem to have a lot of silly fun memories. And we can always just pick up where we left off if we haven't seen eachother for awhile. Hanging out with you is always relaxing -- even if we're chasing kids...or riding elephants. I'm glad we keep in touch, even if its just to say what the kids are up to and how we wish we could get together for another estrogen weekend.

I am blessed with these good friends. Thanks for tagging me and forcing me to take a moment to appreciate them.

Bummer.

Today's not looking any better. Jack missed the bus and now I have to go get Kyle because his school thinks he has pink eye. Lovely.

Aaaah! I can't Update

....I'm swamped and stressed and have no time.

But I know I've been "tagged."

And I know I've got a blog challenge.

Ack!

Just ran in real quick to say I'll get to it! But right now, gotta get back to work.

SaSaSaturday Saturday

Is that a Billy Joel song? "It's Saturday and I'm alright." ?

Anyhoooo ....
I noticed that most of my wishes from the last post were granted.  I got some nice praise from a couple unexpected sources.  I didn't have Survivor ruined. (Watched last night, not bad.)  I had a relatively easy news day.  That's nice.

One basketball game down .. 2 to go.  Waiting on Daddy to bring home lunch.  Daddy's not feeling good today which is no fun.  I need a big energy boost if I'm going to get anything done.  But what I'd like is a big family nap.  Every go to sleep.  Aaaaah.  Yeah, never gonna happen.  Could probably get 3 out of 5 of us asleep.   We could probably trust the other two not to burn the house down or anything...

I just threatened a kid "be nice to x or I'm going to be mean to you!"  There's some stellar parenting.

OH! There's the garage door! Time for lunch!  I'll blog again today cuz I got tagged!! You'll see what I mean tonight.

TGIF

Really glad it's Friday. It was a tough week...I'm beaten down.

Jack has his last basketball game tomorrow. In between Nick and Kyle's bball...two more weekends for them. It will be nice to get a break from sports for a bit. Though soccer starts up...but I'm hoping games don't start for awhile. And we gotta get Jack signed up for baseball or he'll freak. Sounds like another full summer of kids' sports.

I hope to finish my bible verses this weekend -- and do/finish my recipe swap and finish up the ornament album. I HOPE. And if I'm really rockin' - finish the LOVE CB album. It would be great to check those all off my scrap "to do" list. It would be nice if the house were completely clean and in order ... so we didn't have to do any house stuff...and just enjoy the weekend. But cleaning up after boys is like shoveling in a snow storm.

I'm thinking a lot about one of my co-workers...who left suddenly yesterday because her mom didn't show up somewhere and wasn't answering her cell...and people were concerned. She found her mother had unexpectedly passed away. I'm very sad for her. She's in my thoughts and prayers big time. It's more sad because she always talked about her mom - funny stories -- and it was part of who she was...so those of us who know her -- who may have never met her mom -- still have a little connection through all the stories. So so sad.

Oh .. I have to go into work Sunday. It's for a good reason and it's important ... but darn. When you've had the week I've had at work .... you really want to be completely AWAY from it for a couple days. And I was on call last weekend. But, it's sweeps, and you gotta do what you gotta do.

*sigh*

The Five:
1. Headache
2. Dirty (I need a shower.)
3. Dreading work
4. A little, tiny "blink" of relief/happy since it's Friday
5. Beaten down.

Five wishes for today:
1. No confrontations.
2. To get Praise
3. To get an apology (it'll never happen)
4. Easy news day...not a NON-news day...but nothing crazy-ass that keeps me at work late.
5. No one ruins Survivor for me...since I didn't see it.

TGIF folks. TGIF.

Zzzzzzzz....

I clicked on "New Post." Then my brain locked up. I'm sooooo tired. I was hoping to leave work during the 10 last night -- we were ALL tired from Election coverage ... but there were some issues and I ended up leaving late again.

I had hoped to snooze a bit on the couch this morning after getting Jack on the bus....but then someone called in sick at work...causing a big ripple effect on who would cover what...and that kind of ended that plan.

So now I'm blankly staring at my computer. I think once I tear myself away I will go get under a blanket and read. THE WORLD WILL NOT END IF I TAKE SOME TIME FOR MYSELF AND READ INSTEAD OF FOLDING THE LAUNDRY WAITING IN THE BASKET. I tell myself. But then I think, the longer it sits in there the more wrinkly it gets. No, I'm gonna read. Darn it. TIME FOR MYSELF IS OK.

THAT'S RIGHT. LOGGING OFF TO GO READ NOW. READING!!

But not without laying out THE FIVE:
1. Cold.
2. Tired.
3. Amused. Nick is being funny.
4. Concerned. He has a big blow up spiderman chair, and he just told me "The air blew out of my chair." That can't be good.
5. Ready to go read for a bit....

Snow Day, notsomuch

Hmph. All schools in the metro closed ... except Jack's. Annoying. After staying at work 'til midnight with election coverage and such ... I was thinking, at least I'll get to sleep in because it will most definitely be a snow day. I should have known better. I can still see grass. Grrrrr.

WHERE'S MY SNOW STORM???? I watched our live coverage....and it really didn't look like much ANYWHERE. I think other places got more than my neck of the woods...but just another big disappointment.

Either snow like you mean it or give up and warm up!

To Snow to Not to Snow

...that is the question. Will it come or not? We've gotten burned the last couple times with the "models changing at the last minute." In any case, I'm packing a bag in case it would be best for me to stay in Fairway (where the tv station is) tonight. Snow coverage on top of election coverage. A busy busy day ahead ... so this may be my only check-in.

The Five:
1. Hungry
2. Little stressed about an election special I'm producing
3. Comfortable: snow day=jeans day
4. A little excited: if there's actually snow & fun exn coverage
5. Enjoying the thunder/rain...sounds nice.

Five Wishes:
1. More hours in this day.
2. The storm would dump like a FOOT of snow! And be the real deal!
3. I could take tomorrow off, play in the snow and sleep.
4. The house would clean itself
5. I didn't have to drive so far to work.

Blog Challenge: Feb 4 Week

I issued another blog challenge for friends this week ... and I kind of centered it around this week's poll question...about if you're ready for Spring or ok with some more Winter.

I voted Winter. What??? I know ... I hate being cold and etc ... but I am ok with one more good snow storm. We haven't had a good, deep fluffy snow yet for playing in. And I need the snow to cover some of the flowers I see budding up. I don't want them to come up too soon and get frozen like last year. (Or eaten by rabbits.)

I'm still enjoying the fire place and comfy clothes. And heavy blankets at night. I like my layers. And my fluffy scarf. And my cool new leather and suede knee high boots.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ready for Spring. But one more snow storm would be ok.

And...Monday's Back

Here's one of the reasons I hate Monday: the weekend went too fast. There's still stuff to do and I'm always sooooo tired and can't get much done. It takes a bit to get the gears rolling at work. It's like riding a bike up hill. Once I get up there, the rest of the week is ok (all things considering.) But like now, I need a shower, but I just want to go back to bed.

I did update pieces of the site ... new poll question (scroll way down)....new thought for the week. Etc.

Soon I will add some pics to my slide shows ... and add some new music. I need a few songs that are high energy.

The Five:
1. Tired
2. Unmotivated
3. Dirty
4. Achey
5. Quiet

Oh ... I think I'll issue a new blog challenge for my friends ... got keep us bloggin'!

Jack is Blogging

I've set Jack up with his own blog.  He thinks it's pretty cool.  We're still working out some kinks...and he's toying with the blog part...so it'll undergo a lot of change.  But he's enjoying it.

Saturday is here.  One basketball game down -- and Nick played well most of the time.  (No tears.)

Now I'm off to get a manicure..then two more basketball games.  Then RELAX time.

I did start reading "Playing for Pizza" by John Grisham.  So far so good.

Tomorrow I'll update the thought of the week and the poll. Though I may post more random thoughts today.

TGIFF.....!!!!

The debut of my blog has been pretty depressing, eh? Looking back at my posts: I hate Monday, I hate Tuesday, Wednesday sucks and Thursday is depressing. Hm...that wasn't the intent ... but a blog is a good place to just vent. Just like journaling...

But no worries -- it won't always be doom and gloom. IT'S FRIDAY!!! The weekend ahead is busy (3 basketball games!) And we MUST go to church Sunday after missing 2 wknds. (Oops.)
I'm looking forward to being home, cleaning up and maybe starting one of my books from Christmas. I'd really like to get attached to a good book. It's been awhile.

We didn't win last night. (Ratings.) BUT - we did grow the audience, and we didn't lose anyone in the show, and that's important. It hurts more if there's drop off either before the show starts or in the middle of it. So, we did the very best we could considering the circumstances. So, I don't think it will be doom-n-gloom at work today.

By the way, anyone watch LOST last night? Gooooood stuff. Just wish I didn't have to wait a week for more. I HATE when it's over!!

The Five for Friday:
Feelings:
1. Tired
2. Relieved
3. Ready to start over
4. Anxious for the wknd
5. Behind. It's 11am - and I should be making lunch!

Five Wishes:
1. I can smell a dirty diaper again. Wish he'd get potty trained!!
2. The arguing I can hear would stop.
3. It was 10:32:20pm.
4. I could get a manicure
5. It would be WARM this wknd.
